Welcome Taras Dyatlik to the Overseas Council team

Overseas Council is pleased to welcome our new part-time Regional Director (RD), Taras Dyatlik. He will be contributing to OC’s work in Eurasia, serving our partners in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. “The region has been the only one in our network that has been without an RD,” said Jason Ferenczi, OC Vice President of International Partnerships. “I’m delighted to see that change.”

Taras will continue working with the Eurasian Accrediting Association (EAAA), a close OC partner for nearly 20 years. “I am thankful to see this synergistic relationship moving forward,” said Jason. “I am also deeply thankful to Sergiy Sannikov, the outgoing director of EAAA, who has been a key partner in making this happen. He and I, along with the EAAA board, have invested many hours over several years to see this happen.”

Taras brings a lot of strength to our RD team. He is a graduate and former academic dean/faculty member of Donetsk Christian University (DCU), one of our Ukrainian partner schools. “We are privileged to draw on the expertise of someone who already has deep relationships with theological schools in Eurasia and who is also very aware of global trends.”

Taras is also a deeply committed member of the Church and brings to his professional role the vision for theological education that is truly responsive to the needs of the Church. He holds a Master’s degree from Evangelical Theological Faculty in Leuven, Belgium, and is currently pursuing his PhD at this same institution, exploring issues relating to theological education in Ukraine in his dissertation work. He and his wife, Natasha, have two teenage children. They live in the city of Rivne in western Ukraine.
