“As [donors] help us, they are really training God’s people for God’s vineyard with us”

After graduating in 1991 from Allahabad Bible Seminary (ABSI), India, during which he says he saw God’s faithfulness and provision, Samuel Andriyas Noel began serving the seminary as the Librarian. He praises the quality of ABSI and thanks God for an institution where all his spiritual questions as a student were answered based on the Bible. He also learned English during his studies, so he can preach in English and complete translation work now.

Samuel sees the quality of ABSI’s program through the evangelistic program he coordinates, which is one way he says they can fulfill the Great Commission of going out to preach the Good News and make disciples. Both as a student and now, he drives students to different villages where people are struggling with issues like poverty. “When our students go, they pray with them and also try to help them…When we go out in the field, we can see the quality of the students.” Out of 27 villages, Samuel says four have very good congregations. A few villagers can read Hindi, but the majority are illiterate; however, he says, “These people have really given their hearts to Jesus,…[and] they worship with their whole hearts.” He says the practical and evangelistic work of ABSI students has helped the villagers to worship the living God.

Samuel thanks God for the impact that support through OC and its donors has had on the seminary. As the Librarian, he’s especially grateful to Dr. Manfred Kohl, OC Special Ambassador, and says Manfred “has taken care of the ABSI Library as a father takes care of his children.” He thanks donors from abroad and asks that they continue to pray and support the seminary. “As they help us, they are really training God’s people for God’s vineyard with us…May this ministry grow more.”

Samuel also serves as the Assistant Pastor of the Evangelical Church of India in Allahabad.
