Book project provides resources to partner schools and extends the impact of the Institute

Because the Institute for Excellence in Christian Leadership Development is typically no more than one week long, OC recently conducted a book project as a way to provide input and resources to our partner schools. It reinforces “our objectives for the Institute this year, which focuses on Nurturing Spiritual Formation in the Seminary,” says Dr. Scott Cunningham, OC Dean of Leadership Development. Eleven books that directly relate to the topic were selected and offered to all of our partner schools; they were able to select three that they would like to receive.

“The books will be used as a resource for the schools as they become more intentional about the issue of spiritual growth on their campuses. Looking at it from a strategic point of view, it’s a way to provide input over time into the schools,” Dr. Cunningham says. “While the Institute is only one week long (at most), we are looking for ways to extend and distribute the learning over the entire year.”

Of OC’s 107 partner schools, 94 elected to receive books, which were packaged and sent by OC staff members recently (pictured). Schools were encouraged to circulate the books among their leadership and faculty in order to increase the impact of the resources.

The books were made available through a generous gift by a special friend of the ministry.
