Communist regime in Bulgaria. Hristo says it was almost impossible for one to confess his faith openly.
Now living in Greece, God called Hristo to serve among the Bulgarian people in the Omonia Church of Christ in Athens. His ministry began serving a group of 15 people, but within two months, God multiplied the number to 150. Hristo says, “Many Bulgarians that were previously atheists or Communists were turning their lives over to Christ, passing through the difficulties of the emigrant way of living.”
As a pastor of the Bulgarian Emigrant Society, Hristo needed deeper theological knowledge. He became a part-time Bachelor of Theology student at Bulgarian Evangelical Theological Institute (BETI) and travels to the school monthly for classes. “I am grateful to my Lord for this opportunity,” says Hristo. “I hope one day to return to Bulgaria and serve Him there at home too.”
