Faculty training builds capacity and excellence at partner schools
Faculty training is a crucial way to build longevity into leaders, and an institution’s level of excellence rests squarely upon its local leaders and faculty, the individuals who have a direct impact on the men and women being trained to serve their communities for Christ.
Obeth Thevanesan, a faculty member and graduate of Lanka Bible College and Seminary (LBCS), Sri Lanka, recently returned from the University of Wales with his MTh research degree. LBCS says they regularly send faculty members to receive additional training in order to bring knowledge back to the school, which benefits every student that leaders like Obeth touch along the way and the countless lives reached through the ministries following.
Now that he has returned, Obeth will continue serving at the LBCS Center for Graduate Studies in Colombo as a full-time graduate level lecturer, equipping quality leaders for the Church in Sri Lanka. The school has found him to be “an energetic, resourceful person who could be entrusted with any task.” His ministry has also been among the youth as a counselor and encourager.
LBCS expresses thanks to everyone who prayed and supported Obeth and his wife during their stay in Wales, as well as those who support the school and the importance of faculty training.
