More than 100 guests gathered to see “The Power of One” at OCGO 2010

One Donor à One Scholarship à One Trained Leader

The 2010 Overseas Council Global Overview (OCGO) was held July 16, 2010, from 6-9 pm at Woodland Country Club in Carmel, Indiana. “The Power of One” theme emphasized the impact of one donor providing one scholarship that results in one trained Christian leader impacting hundreds, even thousands, throughout the course of their life. More than 100 guests celebrated OC’s work of Advancing Christian Leaders as exciting new ministry developments around the world and God’s faithfulness were highlighted.

Dr. Tharwat Wahba (pictured below, top left), faculty member from our Egyptian partner school, the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo (ETSC), was the main speaker. In addition, regional conversation spots were set up around the venue in order to allow guests to interact intimately with our Regional Director Staff and hear about the worldwide strategic work of training Christian leaders at OC’s 100+ partner seminaries and Bible institutes in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Dr. Bill Houston, the retiring Africa Regional Director, was honored for his five years of service to the ministry. We are very grateful to Bill for his outstanding leadership and contribution to evangelical theological education.

WTHR-TV’s Chuck Lofton from Channel 13 SkyTrak Weather, Indianapolis, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and Brian and Kim Tabor  provided music.

Overseas Council thanks the many individuals who attended this year. Event proceeds will fund scholarships at OC’s partner seminaries and Bible institutes.
