OC becomes “ICETE Partner”
OC has accepted an invitation to enter into a formal collegial relationship with the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE) as a recognized ICETE Partner, a special category that allows for enhanced collaboration, consultation and mutual support.
“Overseas Council, under its President David Baer, is among the most respected and effective ministries working worldwide in support of
evangelical theological education,” ICETE says. “It has been an ICETE Associate for more than a decade and is thus an already well-known participant in the ICETE family.”
About ICETE – Founded in 1980, ICETE’s is a global community, sponsored by eight regional network associations of theological schools to facilitate collaboration worldwide for excellence and renewal in evangelical theological education. ICETE does this by:
- promoting the enhancement of evangelical theological education worldwide;
- serving as a forum among those involved in evangelical theological education for mutual assistance, stimulation and enrichment;
- providing networking and support services for continental/regional associations for evangelical theological education worldwide; and
- facilitating among these bodies the enhancement of their services to evangelical theological education within their regions.
The eight sponsoring associations together cover all parts of the world with a combined constituency of more than 872 evangelical theological schools in 113 countries and a global student population in excess of 100,000 persons in preparation for church leadership roles predominantly in the majority world. ICETE operates under the auspices of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA). For more information, visit www.icete-edu.org.
