Partner school gave graduate “the tools to form other leaders”

David Parra has been working in technical training for his denomination, Bible Missionary Churches, since graduating from University Foundation Biblical Seminary of Colombia (BSC) over 10 years ago. Working on the formation of pastors, church leaders and Sunday school teachers, David gives workshops on practical pedagogy in local churches and at annual church meetings. He has also taught pastoral preparation and administration, interpretation of Scripture and Bible exposition.
David says the preparation he received at BSC gave him the tools to form other leaders and give them basics of biblical vision and a ministerial philosophy based on Scripture. The pastors and leaders in the training programs come from many different backgrounds, from large cities to rural churches, and their previous preparation is very diverse. Many come from areas of violence and constant war. The limitations of previous education, finances and adequate textbooks make the job very challenging. Identifying with the reality of each leaders and applying Scripture to the situations is difficult, but the pedagogical function of the Word is important in order to change the mentality and practices of leaders and congregations.
David also says his preparation and continued theological formation give him a desire to seek personal excellence and constant academic improvement. Please pray for David’s ministry and for others seeking preparation in Bible exposition.
