Update: Meetings in Mexico continue resource sharing
OC partner school Central American Theological Seminary (CATS) in Guatemala City, Guatemala, continues to share resources with other schools in the Latin America region. Recently, six theological schools across Mexico attended leadership meetings, including representatives from Mexico City, Hermosillo, Mérida and Puebla.

Josué Fernández and Edna de Ponce, OC Latin America Regional Director and CATS Director of Communication and Fundraising, respectively, led a session on development of communications and fundraising. Jason Ferenczi, OC Vice President of International Partnerships, said this session was very well received, and some schools have already made considerable strides in this direction.

Ferenczi and Fernández then met with the school presidents to discuss the future of theological education in Mexico. Discussion topics included the type of leaders needed for the Church in Mexico in the 21st century, the curriculum needed to train such leaders and the relationship of seminaries to churches and the broader society.
Ferenczi said the meetings were “an encouraging time of dreaming and thinking together and building a network.”
