Hong Kong school has strategic Chinese ministry

Founded in 1975, China Graduate School of Theology (CGSTHK) in Hong Kong was among the first theological training centers to offer a Master's level program. Today, the interdenominational school with 1,547 graduates is committed to developing spiritual leaders in the Chinese Church. Being located in Hong Kong gives CGSTHK a unique and strategic position to reach China's Mainland. With a population of 1.3 billion people and a rapidly growing Church, China's need for trained leaders is great.

Over their 30+ year ministry, CGSTHK has seen campus expansions, a continuously expanded program and continued growth in their student body and faculty team. Their newest projects include two Mandarin programs, Diploma and Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and the "Bible Study Movement" program. The school has a vibrant Theological Education by Extension program with over 1,500 students each year, positively impacting the quality of lay leaders. Providing indigenous theological materials is crucial, and the school is actively involved in publication, having produced over 60 books on biblical, theological and pastoral studies.

Formerly the President of CGSTHK from 1989-2007, OC Senior Consultant for China Wilson Chow joined OC's International team in December 2007. Wilson also serves as the President Emeritus and a Distinguished Research Professor at the school.

Master of Divinity graduate Wang-Ngai Chow is the pastor of EFCC Kong Fook Church in Hong Kong, focusing on marketplace ministry. Through CGSTHK, Wang-Ngai’s church now offers theological courses. He says he learned the lesson of "God in the midst of us" at CGSTHK, a reminder that he is not doing his ministry alone nor as a single church.
