Singaporean college has over 1,800 alumni in 50 countries
Founded in 1948, Trinity Theological College (TTC) in Singapore is an interdenominational institution preparing students for the challenges of serving in churches in diverse Asia. The Church has grown quickly over the past 20 years, and the need for soundly educated theological leaders to disciple new Christians is great. TTC has over 1800 alumni serving the churches of Singapore, Malaysia and about 50 other countries.
TTC has two study centers: The Center for the Development of Christian Ministry provides training programs, seminars, conferences and research on the Bible, theology and ministry; and the Center for the Study of Christianity in Asia serves the Church as it seeks to be a witness for Christ and proclaim the Good News.
The college offers a Diploma of Christian Ministry; Masters of Theological Studies, Ministry and Theology; and a Doctor of Theology. A new integrated curriculum replaced the college’s Bachelor of Theology and Divinity degrees and the Master of Divinity degree. Since assisting the elderly and youth are two concerns of society, TTC holds seminars to assist leaders with ministering to the elderly, and a TTC faculty member specializes in youth ministries.
The field education program offers students many ministry opportunities in a variety of settings, including churches, hospitals, prisons, drug rehabilitation centers, children’s homes and other social and welfare organizations.
Feeling a call to serve the Lord, Master of Divinity graduate Vincent Lun left a career in auditing and chose to study at TTC because of the program’s flexibility and “a wider perspective on theology.” He feels he benefited from his time at the college because it “was a time of building a framework for thinking through issues biblically and theologically.” Today, he serves as Senior Pastor at RiverLife Church, a growing congregation in Pasir Ris.
