Dreams are coming true for Moldovan school

Located in Moldova, the College of Theology and Education (CTE) was founded in 1995 with the purpose to train Christian men and women to serve in local churches and to spread a Christian witness throughout Eastern Europe and Central Asia. With over 700 graduates, CTE not only trains Christian leaders for Moldova but also for Eurasia and beyond where few training options are available. Over 50 students are currently from the Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union – Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

CTE’s four accredited programs – Theology, Mission, Social Work and Christian Education – are taught in Russian and Romanian to students representing 23 nationalities.

CTE is also building satellite centers in Central Asia that will become independent seminaries, training leaders in their own languages for the quickly growing Church in the region. The college plans to extend their part-time program for church leaders who cannot attend classes every day.

Bachelor in Missions student Alexei Macarov has been involved in the Spring of Life Church, preaching and leading a small group of Asian students from CTE. He says, “[At CTE,] I have learned more about how to preach and how to develop skills in order to be relevant for my congregation and people. I can see the difference between how I preached in the past and now. This training will improve my future ministry.”
