Overseas Council is bullish on the local church!

In fact, we consider partnership with churches to be among our most strategic ministry practices. Without the church, partnership movements like OC stand vulnerable to losing their very soul. With the church, we posture ourselves to stay near to the center of the Lord’s blessing.

Local churches join OC in Advancing Christian Leaders by covenanting with us in prayer, strategizing and financial partnership. When you add your church to OC and our worldwide network of leadership trainers as the second and third points of the triangle, you’ve got yourself one potent piece of geometry!

Experience has taught us that OC has a special calling to bless congregations, encouraging them by lifting their eyes to the nations where the Lord continues to pour out His Spirit most lavishly and lovingly. We work with local churches to hone their global vision, sometimes laboring in close proximity to craft a mission strategy that engages God’s world, leverages the congregation’s key passions and makes sense as we in the West adapt to a fast-changing world where our role is often subordinate but no less critical than it ever was.

Many churches choose to invest in the life of an emerging Christian leader in one or more of the sixty-odd nations where OC is privileged to serve. A monthly scholarship gift of just $100 swings doors of opportunity open before gifted men and women who desire nothing more than to touch the Lord’s vineyard with vision, integrity and competence. Many churches sponsor multiple scholarships, often telling us that they find this to be their most high-capacity involvement in God’s mission in His world.

Other churches partner with us to provide educational resources, to facilitate the construction of next-step educational facilities and to bring world-class on-the-job training into the lives of seminary leaders that keeps their schools fresh and responsive to changing needs out of a commitment to a gospel that never changes.
